Membership Terms & Conditions


By signing up as a member of Raise The Bar Fitness & Recovery (“the Studio”), you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. These terms ensure a safe, respectful, and effective training environment for all members, staff, and guests. Please read them carefully.
These Terms & Conditions apply to all individuals who access and use the facilities and services of Raise The Bar Fitness & Recovery, including:
- Active members
- Guests attending a trial session
- Individuals participating in a single session, class, or event

By entering the premises, using any part of the facility, or taking part in any service (including fitness training, EMS, recovery tools, or events), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by the following Terms & Conditions, regardless of membership status.


1. Membership Agreement
• Memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable.
• All payments must be made on time as agreed in your membership contract.
• Raise The Bar reserves the right to adjust pricing or membership terms with 30 days written notice.
• Promotional offers are subject to availability and cannot be combined with other discounts unless stated.
• Raise The Bar may offer capped or limited membership availability to preserve the exclusive training environment.


2. Booking, Credits & Attendance
• Sessions (Group PT, EMS, Recovery) must be booked in advance through our booking platform.
• If you run out of credits, additional single sessions may be purchased at member-only rates.
• Cancellations must be made at least 12 hours in advance to avoid credit forfeiture.
• Late arrivals (over 10 minutes) may be denied entry and the session forfeited.
• Consistent late cancellations or no-shows may result in temporary booking restrictions or fees.


3. Health, Safety & Medical Disclosure
• All members must complete a PAR-Q and disclose any medical conditions before participating in any physical activity.
• You are responsible for updating the Studio regarding any changes to your health status.
• If you answer “YES” to any medical condition on your PAR-Q, medical clearance may be required.
• You must not use the facility while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication that may affect your ability to exercise safely.
• If you feel unwell, stop training immediately and inform a staff member.


4. Use of EMS Training
• EMS (Electro Muscle Stimulation) sessions require a separate induction and signed waiver.
• Proper EMS undergarments must be worn during sessions and will be available for purchase.
• Members must follow all staff instructions and EMS safety guidelines.
• Sessions must be booked in advance and may be subject to trainer availability.
• Raise The Bar reserves the right to refuse EMS sessions to anyone deemed unfit for this type of training.

5. Use of Compression Boots & Recovery Equipment
• Compression boots, ice baths, infrared sauna, and other recovery tools are to be used only under staff guidance or after a proper induction.
• Do not exceed recommended use times or pressure levels.
• You agree to use all recovery tools at your own risk and follow all posted or verbal instructions.
• If you have circulatory issues, recent surgeries, or are pregnant, consult a doctor before use.
• Raise The Bar is not liable for injuries resulting from improper or unsupervised use.

6. Facility Conduct & Etiquette
• Clean, appropriate gym attire and footwear must be worn at all times.
• Equipment must be wiped down after use with provided cleaning products.
• Bags and personal belongings must be stored in designated areas.
• Phones may only be used discreetly—no calls or filming others without explicit permission.
• Any behaviour deemed aggressive, disruptive, or disrespectful to staff or other members will result in immediate suspension or termination of membership.

7. Personal Belongings & Liability
• Raise The Bar currently does not provide lockers for member use.
• Members are advised to bring only essential items to the Studio.
• If you have valuables or personal belongings you wish to keep safe during your session, please speak to a member of staff—we’ll be happy to store them securely for you.
• Raise The Bar is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items left unattended or not handed to staff.
• You enter and use the Studio, its facilities, and equipment entirely at your own risk.
• Raise The Bar, its staff, and affiliates are not liable for injuries, accidents, or medical conditions that occur on the premises, except in cases of proven negligence.

8. Photography, Media & Marketing
• Raise The Bar may occasionally take photos or videos for social media and promotional purposes. If you do not wish to appear in media, please inform staff in writing.
• Members are prohibited from recording or photographing others without their express permission.

9. Suspension & Termination
• Raise The Bar reserves the right to suspend or cancel memberships for:
• Breach of these Terms & Conditions
• Inappropriate conduct or harassment
• Misuse of equipment or facilities
• Health or safety concerns
• No refunds will be given for memberships terminated due to breach of conduct.
• You may cancel your membership with the notice stated in your contract. Cancellation before the minimum term may incur fees unless for documented medical reasons.

10. Trial, Guest & Event Access
• Trial sessions are limited to new visitors and subject to availability.
• Guests may only attend with prior approval and must complete a waiver.
• Special events, workshops, and pop-up classes may require additional booking and fees.

11. Data & Privacy
• Member data is stored securely and handled in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
• Your contact details may be used to communicate training updates, schedule changes, or promotions relevant to your membership.

12. Force Majeure
• Raise The Bar is not liable for failure to provide services caused by circumstances beyond our control (e.g. fire, flood, pandemic, government restrictions, etc.).

13. Amendments
• Raise The Bar reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. Members will be notified via email or in-studio notices. Continued use of the Studio constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.




SAUNA NOTICE

I UNDERSTAND THAT I AM USING THE SAUNA ENTIRELY AT MY OWN RISK; AND HAVE CONSULTED WITH MY GP PRIOR TO USING THE FACILITY, AND CONFIRM THAT I HAVE NO MEDICAL CONDITIONS THAT WOULD PREVENT ME FROM USING THE SAUNA

HEALTH RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH USING A SAUNA
- Dehydration
- Heat exhaustion
- Cardiovascular strain
- Burns
- Exacerbation of medical conditions including, but not limited to pregnancy, respiratory issues and skin conditions.
- Fainting or dizziness
- Infections
- Using the sauna whilst intoxicated.

GUIDELINES FOR SAFE USE OF THE SAUNA
- Limit to 10 minutes per session. Dependant on individual tolerance
- Stay hydrated
- Avoid extreme temperatures
- Do not use if you have any medical conditions such as blood pressure, epilepsy, asthma or breathing conditions, epilepsy, high or low blood pressure
- Do not use if you are pregnant
- Cool down gradually and rest for 5-10 minutes in a cooler environment

ICE PLUNGE NOTICE

I UNDERSTAND THAT I AM USING THE ICE PLUNGE ENTIRELY AT MY OWN RISK; AND HAVE CONSULTED WITH MY GP PRIOR TO USING THE FACILITY, AND CONFIRM THAT I HAVE NO MEDICAL CONDITIONS THAT WOULD PREVENT ME FROM USING THE ICE PLUNGE

HEALTH RISKS ASSSOCIATED WITH USING THE ICE PLUNGE BATH
- Hypothermia
- Cardiovascular strain including cardiac arrest/ increased blood pressure
- Cold shock response including respiratory issues/ rapid uncontrolled breathing/ hyperventilation
- Frost bite or cold induced skin damage
- Neurological effects such as confusion, dizziness and fainting
- Can trigger skin conditions
- Muscular skeletal risks
- Cold induced muscle cramping or stiffness increasing the risks of slipping/ falls when exiting the ice plunge bath.

GUIDELINES FOR SAFE USE OF THE ICE PLUNGE BATH
- Do not use if you have any medical conditions such as heart problems, heart disease, high blood pressure, peripheral neuropathy, poor circulation, venous stasis or cold agglutinin disease.
- Do not use if you are pregnant
- Limit use to 1-2 minutes.

COMPRESSION BOOTS NOTICE

I UNDERSTAND THAT I AM USING THE COMPRESSION BOOTS ENTIRELY AT MY OWN RISK; AND HAVE CONSULTED WITH MY GP PRIOR TO USING THE FACILITY, AND CONFIRM THAT I HAVE NO MEDICAL CONDITIONS THAT WOULD PREVENT ME FROM USING THE COMPRESSION BOOTS

HEALTH RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH USING COMPRESSION BOOTS
- High pressure causing numbness and discomfort
- You are at high risk and must seek advice from your GP before using the compression boots if you have any of the following conditions.
o Acute pulmonary oedema
o Acute thrombophlebitis
o Blood circulation problems
o Acute congestive cardiac failure
o Acute infections
o Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
o Episodes of pulmonary embolism
o Wounds, lesions, infection, or tumours at or near the site of application
o Where increased venous and lymphatic return is undesirable
o Bone fractures/ bruises or dislocations at or near the site of application

GUIDELINES FOR SAFE USE OF COMPRESSION BOOTS
- Duration of usage: It is recommended that you use compression boots for 10-20 minutes at a time, up to three times a week.
- Pressure levels: Always start with a lower pressure level as one's tolerance to pressure varies from person to person. Gradually increase it over time as per recommendations.
- Keep hydrated during sessions.
